Donaghey Moves to Tulane Univrsity

October 28, 2026

Undersecretary and chief of staff for the Executive Office of Education, KATE DONAGHEY, has left the office after nearly four years on the job. Donaghey is now teaching at Tulane University as an adjunct faculty member in their master of public administration program, according to her LinkedIn. She joined the office at the beginning of the Healey administration in January 2023. Previously, Donaghey was the executive director of education technology startup LearnLaunch, a senior vice president and director of government affairs at public relations firm Melwood Global, and a government relations specialist at the Massachusetts Teachers Association for six years. She also spent some time as a staffer in the Legislature, serving as an aide to former Rep. Patricia Haddad, and former Sens. Joan Menard and Richard Moore. In her post on LinkedIn announcing her departure, Donaghey said, "Earlier this month, I left #TeamEOE #TeamTut & most recently #TeamZ," referring to former Education Secretary Patrick Tutwiler and current Education Secretary Stephen Zrike. "I did so with an immense sense of gratitude for the work, for the people, for the lessons, and for the privilege of being part of something that mattered." The post ends with "Forever #TeamTut."
